Week of 7/31
Good afternoon WOL Family,
I pray that you have had some rest in this "month of rest." I have tried to help us find His rest this month in the blog here. One of Pastor Phil's favorite saying is, "In His rest you will find His best." We need to be able to find and push into the rest of God. The main scripture that was used for this month was Hebrews 4:9-11, "There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest...." I talked about how rest has to do with faith (complete trust) in God and when we have that faith (complete trust) we will have peace and contentment. 1 Timothy talks about how, "Godliness with contentment is great gain." Walking in Godliness and finding peace you will come into the contentment of Father. Being content is being at ease where you are at in the Lord knowing that He has you where you need to be now matter what is going on around you. Now there are going to be tests and trials but these are to bring you into being established in Him. All these things (and probably more) work together to bring us into the rest of God and as Ephesians says, "the work that he has for us to do that has been done since the foundation of the world." So, are you ready to continue working to enter the rest of God? Keep at it. It may take some time to learn but you will get there as long as you don't give up!
In August we get back to some things here at WOL. Friday, August 5th and Saturday, August 6th Deborah's Co. will be going to Tampa to "The Great Awakening." For more information on this trip please see Karen Harrison or Martina Washington.
There is going to be NO Deborah's Co. on Tuesday, August 9th because we will be having a series of meetings on the 10th, 11th, and 12th. Drs. David and Vernette Rosier will be coming for three powerful nights of teaching and ministry. Mark your calendars now so you don't miss these two anointed people of God.
Have an incredible afternoon. We had a amazing word last night by Pastor Annette Burgamy. If you missed it and would like a CD (or if you were there) we will have some on Sunday. I hope to see you on Sunday.
