Week of 4/17
Dear WOL Family,
I pray that everyone is doing well. Please continue to pray for Pastor Phil and Elder Karen. We have not had a report from them this time. There has been a little battle in the Spirit for them this time. They come home next week so please pray till they get back. Thank you.
This weekend we have another Holy Ghost School of Results. Friday evening begins at 7:00pm and Saturday morning begins at 10:00am. Please pray for Elder Helen Calhoun. She will be speaking the the HGSR this weekend. Come out looking for a powerful work and move of the Spirit. Remember, it is not about who is speaking but about Him and the move of the Spirit.
Sunday, April 24th we will be celebrating Resurrection Sunday. There are a few things going on that you need to be ready for. We will be having our Resurrection power firstfruit offering. Be praying about what God would have you to do for this special offering. Know that despite what things might look like, God is able to bring life to the dead things. This is what we are celebrating -- The Resurrection of Jesus. If He can do it with Jesus, He can do it with you also.
Also on Sunday, April 24th we will be having a Celebration service that morning and we will have a special service in the evening. For the morning Celebration service we are in need of singers, dancers, people who do drama, play an instrument or anything else God may lay on your heart. There is a sign-up sheet on the back table in the sanctuary. I realize that this is kind of last minute but if you can put some time this next week into something He is able to bless it. Also, that evening we will behaving a special service at 6:30pm. This will be a time of reflection on what God has done. You won't want to miss it.
Also, pray for me. I will be preaching on Sunday morning. It promises to be a great Palm Sunday.
I appreciate everyone and the work that you are doing for the Lord. We had a great service last night with some testimony of what people are doing for the Lord. In the scripture God calls us His body. This means that we all have a part to play, not only in the church, but in the kingdom of God. That part is unique to you and no one else can fulfill it. It was interesting to see what people are doing outside the church. I have also asked two other people to share Sunday morning about what they are doing. So come out and get encouraged so you can continue to press on. Paul said about pressing, "Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." This verse has been with me a lot this week. I pray that it helps you also.
